Thanks for the information.
we are not using any proxy and i have disabled the use proxy server option in the product updates section but, even then no luck!
I have asked my manager for approval to do full packet capture to see where the logs are actually getting dropped but, we have opened all the ports in the firewall and there is no way the packet would be dropped.
still stuck with this issue
