What kind of firewall?   Have you set the logging source-interface on it? Kiwi tends to log only what it see's, so its probably in the configuration of the firewall somewhere...

It’s an ASA,  so it sends the IP of the egress interface. This is also the IP added to DNS It’s using the right IP, Wireshark confirms this. The syslog server seems to change it to a completely...

Just another note – sending the syslog to another server I setup for testing, it logs with the correct ip. I’ve defaulted the syslog server, reinstalled it – still changes the IP.

Hi, Wireshark shows the correct IP. It’s only on the actual syslog server that the IP is from the neighbouring device.

We use ElasticSearch and Kibana.  It keeps a rolling 30 day index.  Over 30 days would require manually searching through logs or loading into Elasticsearch.
