The ASA might be different, especially if it's running on a different version of IOS. On the other hand, it might actually be easier to configure if you use ASDM instead of the CLI. You could also do this: log a show-run (easy if you're using something like Putty). Save it, and then use the ASDM to configure your ASA for Syslogging, verify everything works the way you want it and then do another show-run and save the log as a different file.
Run a diff on the files. If you're using windows, I recommend ExamDiff Pro (or the free version if you're running on the cheap). And there you will have a guide as to what commands need to be entered.
